Funny Things That Happen to Bloggers

Well well, here we are again...only this time the post is a "biotching" post, so to speak. I am using the "rap slang" for effect of course.

WebRing managers can be very nice, or they can be some of the most stuck up, discriminating people in the web-bound world. For example, envision the judgemental Ringmaster or Ringmistress who decides that in their humble opinion, webrings are not for promotion of "commercial" sites. Note that there is NOTHING in Webring's Terms of service stating this...it is left up to the indivual Ringmaster.

Then take the Ring manager who does not know what a site submitted to a Webring is...one good example follows.

I submitted the HypnoGoddess Experimental Blog to a blogger's ring a few weeks ago. A few days before My flight to England, the blog was rejected for membership. Some Ringmasters simply reject without giving a reason...these may actually be the smartest of the bunch, for the reason given for rejection, was "site is not a blog". Now I ask you, My readers, how in the world, a blog on Blogspot, even one that has the appearance of a Flash presentation, could be considered NOT to be a blog, especially with a definite Blogspot URL?

Then there is the self-avowed "WebRing Expert", who decided THIS blog is a "commerical site"? Well, we put our heads together, James Huggins and I over the last weekend...and discovered we both were wrong-headed in certain ways! We are both laughing now at the fact that he rejected a blog from membership in a blogger's Ring, and the fault will soon be corrected; the gent simply was not paying attention to which Ring I had submitted to I think...proving that even potential web-wars can be avoided by timley discussion!

The experimental blog was rejected by a different Ring manager, who demanded that I remove the Ring code from the blog in question, which was an impossibility, seeing that the blog was in more than 10 Rings already.
